The Poem: Kashmir
He,for sure, will recompense our struggle, let not the faith die in me.
I will rise again to witness my homeland lit up like a christmas tree, when last did I cry.

With my Henna colored hands, I wipe out the drops of blood from his forehead.
Looking at my martyred groom, I wonder, lost in a reverie: When last did I cry?

As God came down from His throne in the last part of the night,
She looked up in the sky, eyes wet with pain: and on her lips a silent plea. When last did I cry?

I see the helplessness of my people; I see the color of rivers changing.
A beautiful young bride on the bank of Jehlum, washing the henna off her hands. With bruised lips She asks me,"When last did I cry?"
( Insha Gulzar )
I don't feel you anymore, pellets over pellets.
I am numb to your pain and don't remember in all honesty, When last did I cry.
( Irshad Ahmad Bhat )
When the wailings are hushed, meet me there, by the banks of Jehlum.
From behind the bridal veils, my cold corpse beckons me: When last did I cry.
( Seema Bhat )
I see the doctor standing over me wondering if I can make it.
I can't breathe, this air is killing me: when last did I cry.
( Nasir )
In the valley of marytrs, she writes the horror she sees.
The tears that turn into blood, the yearning to be free: when last did I cry.
( Rabiya Rasheed )
This is the city of broken promises, shattered dreams, unspoken truth.
Not the one where you want to be. Yet I love it, its home to me: when last did I cry.
( Waseem Ahad )
We will endure any pain, any misery that you know.
We shall take it with a smile, if it will set us free: when did I cry.
( Nasir )
