The Poem: Kashmir
Every occupation we despise, offering every sacrifice.
Children, men, women and old. All standing out bold. Such is the longing for Azadi: when last did I cry.
( Syed Usman )
Kashmir - place where we just manage to survive, yet we teach them how to live.
Essentially we are free, but they don't let us be. Our call for Azadi: when last did I cry.
( Syed Hadia )
When last you came, I had eyes still alive and I would fill little cups with their heady salt wine.
Now my face lies adorned with empty eyes that can't cry, that can't see; when last did I cry?
( Nashra )
Bruised and wounded, our soul is full of scars.
Hearts wail, dry as desert an eye that cannot see. When last did I cry.
( Inaam Mir )
Oh mother don't cry, God has promised us hope, and every fear will go away.
When the honor is violated, I beseech from my lord, to grant us victory: When last did I cry.
( Abdul Jaleel A )
We are waiting for peace, that shall set us free.
Just like the butterflies, waiting for dew from Sky,that shall set them free: when last did I cry.
( Shakir Hussain Bhat )
Unleashed were hounds over the herd of sheep.
Hapless shepherd's heart cried but world cannot see: When last did I cry.
( Inaam Mir )
Waiting in the garden of heaven, for the only son of mine, that I lost to that night.
And what I lost to that night, the only pearl of my sea, when last did I cry.
( Aashiq Ahmad )
They may call me a rebel, but what is in my heart
is no evil, you can never break us apart: the love for my country: when last did I cry.
( Nadeem )
My sleeples eyes await that moment, that dawn.
When the birds of love will fly in the sky that is free: When last did I cry.
( Fayaz )
